In this video Jackie continues the class warm ups for her older skaters. (Click here for Part One). First she has them do a two foot push over the top with an under-stroke. She reminds them to never lift up their foot, to have their feet come together in between while hips move “down into the earth.” Jackie emphasizes that the chest needs to stay up.
She adds a turning element to the “fattest” part of the lobe. This turn is done on the ball of the foot and then to the heal of the blade. The athlete might have difficulty turning and lifting the toes will help.
This all aids in “injury prevention, agility and ability,” while warming their body up for a group class.
