Keeping shoulders level with bungee (Joe Sundgren)

Joe uses a bungee on his advanced skater, building off the previous videos discussing quick starts. He reminds the skater to emphasize the body lean without tilting the shoulders.

As Joe observes the student, he mentions the ankle flexion and how the skate is laced. This is an important observation coaches need to keep in mind as skates can greatly impact skating ability.

The athlete employs the arms with the lean which gives him strength, bet he needs reminding to push through the toe and “don’t let those feet go back.”

Trying the drill again with speed, Joe reminds the student to keep shoulders level, chest up and push hard.
